15th JAN, the whole class had visited Cherie Hearts, an international preschool. Below are some pictures and notes that I had taken down.

Ground Floor

  • the main DOOR must be BIG enough because of the furniture installation

  • the speed of the door swing

  • the control of the door must be set at a high that children are not able to touch, to avoid them running out by themselves

  • sterilizing and temperature checking before they come in, they have to be sent back as the body temperature high reach 37.5°c

  • there was the cabinet and bench at the entrance

  • a little bed with half isolation wall is prepared for the sick child, they also can read inside

Ground Floor

  • This yellow line is as a guideline, parents cant cross over the line when sending their child here

  • parents are not encouraged to cross over the line because

1. many adults with bacteria and antibacterial ability of children is very weak

2. many parents like to take photos of their child and other kids would be taken in the photos (privacy problem)

3. it's also for telling all the kids that their parents just can send them until here, in case if there is not the line, parents can stand outside the class, the kids might cry to try to get the attention from their parents. So this would make them independent

  • a little door is needed. the children will run out easily as they saw their parents then the scene will be out of control

  • the front spacing is limited, when the parents want to bring their kids back there is not enough space for the parents to stand

  • having a broadcaster is easier to let the parents bring their children back

  • PLAYGROUND is a must

  • the speed of how the kid walk is different, the faster will accidentally hit the slower

  • RECEPTION AREA + OFFICE

  • we can know what is happening through CCTV in the office

Ground Floor

  • here is the area for 3months to 18months babies

  • as some of them still don't know how to walk so their activities area will be on the ground floor the whole day

  • there is a curtain for controlling the sunlight when the babies take a nap

  • we can see that the baby bed is with the fence and it is not completely enclosed so adults can look through and stay informed anytime

  • as many of them still haven't learn or still learning how to walk so they would lay the floor cushion for babies

  • the lower mirror and handrail is prepared for the babies who are learning how to walk, we can see that the wall nearby the mirror is covered by a white colour decoration, it avoids babies injury

  • the fence on the floor is to control the babies, therefore they are unable to climb out from there, its easier to take care of all of them

  • the half wall half glass is for looking in and out

  • there is a groove design for baby take bath and next to it is the area to dry and wear clothes

  • normally preschool will offer the shampoo only when the baby has a skin allergies problem then the shampoo will be prepared by their parents themselves, so we have a space to keep the shampoo and towels

  • the floor high of the bathing area is lower and the tile is non-slip

  • air purifier

  • cabinet for keeping their backpack

  • opposite of the bathing area is the area for brewing the milk powder

  • in the bathing area, brewing milk powder area, and storage, many of the furniture is on the adult side

First Floor

  • Little kitchen in children size

First Floor

  • ballet room+sleeping room. 1-3 pm is their sleeping hours and 4 pm is time for the ballet class so when they awake they can place the bed directly in the cabinet and start the class very fast

  • there is also got a curtain for controlling the sunlight and a ceiling to floor mirror is prepared for the ballet class

  • there is a ceiling to floor cabinet, beds are kept at the bottom and on top of the beds is their daycare bags, and then the higher space is for the items that rarely use

  • the pictures above are taken in the class for the kids of 18 months to 3 years old

  • considering of most of them still learning how to sit, so they are not sitting on the chair but sit on the floor

  • the high of the table is lower than the other kids' age

  • there is a tv and they will gather there to watch the film

  • they have prepared a cabinet to keep their bags, 2 cabinets are for keeping the toys and their workbooks, and a rack of storybooks

  • they will install curtains later

  • there are the 3 to 4 years old classes outside the room

  • its open classroom, it will be easier to take care of the kids if they want to go to the toilet. They can let the kids be a line first and then bring them to the toilet at one time, then the teacher who left in the class can look after the kids of other classes at the same time

  • they have used the cabinet as a fence, it can avoid kids running out of the class

  • the high of the fence is lower, make sure teacher can look after all the classes but kids cannot know that what was happening in other classes

  • every class got a little whiteboard, they are not using blackboard is because the dust of chalk will affect children's health

  • I had found that no matter which kids age they are, they all will collect the bottle and put them together. I think it is avoided to spill the water carelessly

Second Floor

  • the classroom for 5 and 6 years old

  • in the same room but separate into two

  • to avoid kids running to another class and disturbing others, they have to use the body fit cushions as a gate

  • here also using cabinets as fence

  • we can find the very cute sticker in every corner

  • we also can find clock in every area

First Floor

  • Bathroom

  • space for keeping shampoo

  • all of the furniture is in children high

  • non-slip flooring

  • there is a bench outside the bathroom

  • because of the limited spacing, the curtain is more safety than using a door

  • the curtain in the middle divide boy's and girl's bathroom, but teachers can provide timely support when an accident occurs at the other side

  • because the space is too narrow so that they have insert fans to prevent fainting due to overheating

  • there is a waiting area before bathing, children can choose to play or reading at there when they are waiting to bath

Second Floor

  • its a toilet next to the canteen

  • its also in children size

  • the tissue box everywhere is also set at a high that children can get the tissue easily and they can throw the tissue thereafter using

  • stickers that mention the usage is used on every power switches

Second Floor

  • library

  • the shelf is very high, kids might not able to get the books above by themselves

  • the green ad yellow colour circle is for kids to sit inside and read, because of different kids different high, they have prepared a staircase for the shorter child

  • children can borrow the books back home and should return back in next Monday

  • they had wrapped the table up, to avoid kids drawing on the tables because it isn't easy to wipeout

  • the kids do have not much chance to use the library unless they still have free time after daycare

Second Floor

  • Dining area, 3 meals a day ( breakfast, lunch and tea break ) will be had here

  • the high of the tables and chairs is suitable for children

  • the curved tables make the kids won't get hurt easily

  • when the kids are eating, the food will always be everywhere so that the surface of the tables and chairs must be easy to wipe

  • the second picture is the sink that is still in progress, it will help to make the kids wash their hands and mouth easily after eating, because the space of the toilet is limited, using the toilet will slow down the speed

Second Floor

  • the whiteboard and the middle of the cabinet are prepared for the staff

  • the whiteboard is to record the kids' symptoms

  • the locker in picture 2 is prepared for the staff when every morning they put their stuff inside they can take a look at what had happened yesterday

Second Floor

  • these pictures show how does the kitchen look like

  • range hood, stove, sink, oven, refrigerator, carpet, cabinet

  • a table of the meal is stuck on the refrigerator

  • tile on the wall

  • 2 dustbins, one is for the kitchen waste

  • baby napkins hanged on the wall

  • all furniture is in adult size

  • cute and creative light

WALL COLOUR

  • white, green and blue

  • the wall paint is waterproof, we can wipe the graffiti off easily

OUTSIDE GARDEN

  • because of the limited spacing, they didn't have an indoor garden

  • however, they will bring the pot in when activities

LITTLE TENT

  • they have specially prepared a little tent that enough a kid and a teacher in

  • when kids meet some problems and they just want to share to the teacher only then the area will be used

ACTIVITIES AREA

  • soon, there will have a class for the musical instrument, such as piano, guitar, drum and etc

  • soundproof

SPACE OF CLASSROOM

  • because of limited spacing, we had been suggested that put the children in a classroom but different teaching content

  • the pampers and milk powder will be prepared by their parents themselves and let the kids bring to school every day, so no need to keep a space to put them
